Habitat for Humanity SLO Presents Golden Shovel to Central Coast Waterproofing

Owners Bill Leys and Diane Standley of Central Coast Waterproofing were two of many local contractors and architects that were in attendance tasting local wines and food on Friday nite, January 28th at an event held at Sustenance Cooking Studio on Santa Barbara Street.

The event was put on by Habitat for Humanity’s San Luis Obispo chapter and was Habitat’s way of saying “Thank You” to all of the many folks who donated time, labor and materials to their project that they completed on Longbranch and 5th Street last year.

Central Coast Waterproofing provided labor to install Desert Crete decking systems to 4 decks and Hill Brothers Chemical Company donated the materials necessary for the job.

Our work at that project and another project on Traffic Way in Atascadero in 2009 helped provide 8 warm, dry, safe homes to deserving families. We’ve donated approximately $4,800 in labor to the projects and we look forward to donating again in the near future.

Remember to donate used or new building materials to Habitat’s Restore. Donations are sold to help build more homes!

Thanks to all the people of SLO County who have stood up and volunteered their time.
